Regulating the personal law, the President of Pakistan has signed the Islamabad Capital Territory Child Marriage Restraint Bill into law under which any sort of cohabitation, with or without consent, resulting from child marriage shall be considered child abuse which entails penal consequences. Under age marriage, which means marriage with a child, whether male or female, under 18 years of ageย has been prohibited under this law.
