DANIYAL ABDULLAH
PUBLIC POLICY CONSULTANT
My journey in public policy began at National Defense University, Islamabad, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Government & Public Policy (2018-2021). Currently, I am pursuing an MPhil in Government & Public Policy (2024-2026), focusing on governance, civil laws, education policies, and disaster management.
Throughout my career, I have worked extensively in policy research, legislative analysis, and advocacy. As a Public Policy Consultant at Law and Policy Chambers, I provide insights on legislative reforms, track regulatory developments, and engage with policymakers, political parties, and advocacy groups to drive effective governance strategies.
My research has primarily centered on gender laws, disaster management, and public health policies. I have authored papers, including “Transgender Laws in Pakistan: Some Key Issues” (published by IPS) and “Integrating Disaster Management and HIV Care in Flood-Affected Areas” (presented at International AIDS Conference 2024, Munich). As a recipient of the International AIDS Society research scholarship, I have conducted workshops on AIDS care and disaster management.
Beyond research, I am actively involved in policy think tanks and youth-led initiatives. I serve as:
• Advisory Board Member, LUMS Policy Research Initiative (LPRI)
• General Secretary & Co-Founder, Islamabad City Council
• Board Member, Association for Family Well-Being Trust
• Research Contributor, Institute of Policy Studies (IPS)
Committed to youth empowerment, I founded Young Leaders Society Pakistan (YLS-P) to drive civic engagement and policy advocacy. Additionally, as Patron-in-Chief of Capital Youth Expo Islamabad, I work to create platforms for youth-led policy discussions.
My goal remains the same, that is, to contribute to inclusive policy-making, governance reforms, and impactful research that can shape a more equitable future.
