Umair has over sixteen years of experience in competition law, public policy, and regulatory affairs. Previously, he has served as Registrar and Director General (Legal) at the Competition Commission of Pakistan.
Umair will work with the two partnered law firms to strengthen their competition law and regulatory affairs practice, leveraging the latter’s extensive litigation, corporate law, and public policy expertise. He will provide advisory and consultancy services in his domain, including on competition investigations, merger & acquisitions, and exemptions.
As a pioneer of the competition regime in Pakistan and with his in-depth understanding of economic and regulatory matters, Umair is uniquely-positioned to help the firms’ clients navigate complex commercial challenges and achieve their business objectives.
Umair is a law graduate of the Lahore University of Management Sciences [BA & LLB], Pakistan and the University of Warwick, United Kingdom [LLM International Economic Law], and a former President of the LUMS Law Alumni Association.
