The Parliament has passed an Act, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Act, 2023 which provides for better regulation of civil aviation and has conferred more power on civil aviation authority. The Act repeals the already existing statutes namely, the Pakistan Airports Authority Act,2023, the Civil Aviation Ordinance, 1960 (XXXII of 1960) and the Pakistan Civil Aviation Ordinance,1982 (XXX of 1982). The Act also provides a Saving and an Overriding Clause.
