On 23rd June, 2023, we had the honour of presenting the findings of the 1st ever Empirical Study of Company Courts in Pakistan at a Symposium held by the SECP at Serena Hotel, Islamabad. The study was based on a scrutiny of all 98 cases instituted in the Companies Original (C.O.) jurisdiction of the Islamabad High Court.
The presentation was attended by, amongst others, former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaque Khan and Chairman SECP. All the stakeholders of the corporate environment present appreciated the socio-legal study which is, although a pilot study, the first one of its kind.
