A family dispute with regard to the custody of a minor was pending with the Supreme Court for two years and it was further prolonging. The parties were litigating the custody issue from the trial court. They reached the Supreme Court and none of them were satisfied with the decision of the lower fora.
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib, acting judge of the Supreme Court, urged the parties to resolve the dispute through mediation as they failed to resolve it through court process. They parties agreed and the matter was referred to a mediator, Mr. Umar Farooq, who tried his best and brought the parties to a settlement.
The parties settled their dispute through an amicable agreement which was submitted in the Court. This the second instance in which the Court tried to settle a family issue through mediation and the result was super fast and successful.
